About Us
The Club’s registered name is Kirkliston After School Club. We offer before and after school care. The Club a registered charity in The Club operates from: Kirkliston EH29 9DD Children are required to be registered with the Club. Annual registration costs £20 per child or £25 for a family. Breakfast Club registration fees are separate and cost £5 per child and £7.50 for a family. The Club’s operating hours are:
Please collect your child before 5.45pm
It is important that you collect your child on time. We operate a system that makes a penalty charge for collecting your child late. This is to cover the additional staffing costs required for a member of staff to stay longer then their contractual hours. You can get details of the charging structure from the Club premises.
Each session currently costs £5.50 from Monday to Thursday and £11 for the longer session on a Friday. The whole week costs £30.00. Fees are subject to review from time to time. Fees should be paid in advance based on your payment frequency (Weekly/Monthly) and can be paid by cash, internet or telephone banking or childcare vouchers. Please ask the Club for details on how to pay electronically. Unfortunately due to banking charges and cash flow concerns we are no longer able to accept payment by cheque. The Club’s admission policy is geared to support the local community of Kirkliston, however we will consider applications from further away. Details of the admissions policy can be found in the statement of our policies and procedures. The Club currently operates a waiting list.
We support children with special dietary requirements. We operate a no smoking policy in the Club. Any adults wishing to smoke are asked to use the designated smoking areas outside the building. Our Staff speak English only. Our Play Leader and the team, plan activities in advance for the children, and a wide range of art and craft work is always ongoing. The schedule for activities can be viewed at the Club and discussed with the Play Leader to assistants. Children are encouraged to join in, however, there is no set timetable for them to follow. The staffing ratio is two adults at all times up to twenty children. The ratio is then one adult par ten children. Our ratios are smaller where we have younger children (preschool) in attendance. Our Play Leader is currently being trained for the qualifications that are being recommended by the Care Commission and that will become mandatory later this year. We also plan to support the play assistants through similar training. The Club is a member of the Scottish Out of School Care Network.
